2. Where is Eurgene?
Hola mis amigos!
Here we are on the other side of week 2. I would say it feels like I've climbed a mountain, but the mountain was really just a small hill and there are 4 much bigger hills after this. I won't lie to y'all, MTC is hard! It is long classes that give me headaches, a whole lot of memorizing, and I'm averaging 50 smph (spanish mistakes per hour). But it is also so good! The tiredness at the end of the day is satisfying, not discouraging. The hours of study have brought me a greater testimony of the gospel than I've ever had before. Sometimes, I just have to remember D&C 122:7, that all the hard times and long days are for my good.
My district continues to amaze me and their faith strengthens my own. It is really cool to discuss a certain scripture with them and hear 6 different perspectives on it, most of which I had never considered before. I really wish we were all headed to the same mission. In other news, my teachers still haven't figured out Thrasher, and I was actually called Hermana Trash this week, so that's looking better. Also, we started having some teaching opportunities with members of the church down in Mexico! They are all very sweet and patient while me and Hermana Stokes struggle over the words, and then when they give us feedback, they absolutely roast my conjugations. But hey, I'm just happy to have something to work on.
Big drum roll for the most exciting news of the week.... I've been temporarily reassigned! Since Argentina is struggling hard with Covid right now, their borders are sealed tight. All the missionaries who were supposed to go there are being sent somewhere in the US until they can make it to Argentina. So yesterday I got the big email about it and it said.... "Temporarily reassigned to the Oregon Eurgene mission!" Now, I've never heard of Eurgene, but I'm pretty sure they meant Eugene. Y'all have no idea how excited I am! I am just pumped to get into that white field and start throwing in my sickle (yeah that was a slight D&C 4 memorization flex). I already love the people there and I know this is where Heavenly Father needs me for now. I have no idea if I'll be speaking Spanish up there or for how long I'll be there, but the convenience of having a Wal-mart close by makes up for losing some Spanish wizard-ry.
We've learned a lot about loving, sharing, and inviting this week. Sharing your testimony and inviting others to church or activities should be natural and done out of love for them. So this week, I invite y'all to love your neighbor and serve them in any way you can! Share a good scripture, offer a big hug, or be a shoulder to cry on. Just let Christ's light shine through you! Much love to you all, I hope you and your families are safe and healthy!
Hasta Luego,
Hermana Thrasher

4 & 5. I really liked this outfit, but then my teacher thought I was wearing PJ's :(
6. Sometimes you just gotta chill on the floor with Beans to get through the day, ya know?
