2. Where is Eurgene?

Hola mis amigos!     Here we are on the other side of week 2. I would say it feels like I've climbed a mountain, but the mountain was really just a small hill and there are 4 much bigger hills after this. I won't lie to y'all, MTC is hard! It is long classes that give me headaches, a whole lot of memorizing, and I'm averaging 50 smph (spanish mistakes per hour). But it is also so good! The tiredness at the end of the day is satisfying, not discouraging. The hours of study have brought me a greater testimony of the gospel than I've ever had before. Sometimes, I just have to remember D&C 122:7, that all the hard times and long days are for my good.     My district continues to amaze me and their faith strengthens my own. It is really cool to discuss a certain scripture with them and hear 6 different perspectives on it, most of which I had never considered before. I really wish we were all headed to the same mission. Hola de Prosper, Tejas!     Yay for surviving the first week of at-home-MTC! I am officially a missionary! I was set apart last Tuesday and I've just been working on my training from home. If it weren't for Covid, I would be down in Mexico City at the Missionary Training Center (MTC) but for now, I am doing it all over zoom with a cozy desk set up in our guest room. Sometimes it feels like a bummer that I can't be in person, but I've actually found lots of blessings from being online too (mostly being able to use Google translate).      My district (the group I have all my classes with) is incredible! Everybody has strong testimonies and it has been fun to get to know everybody. We are way close already and I feel like I've known them forever. Even more incredible is my companion, Hermana Stokes.
