49: Short 'N Sweet

Image
I feel like I don't have that much to write this week, so this will be short and sweet. Carcarañá is still my favorite city in the whole wide world. We have been working hard with the street contacting and found a ton of new friends that way this week. We had a fire mission leadership council and set a really high goal for baptisms in the mission for the month of June! Since then, the mission has been getting super hyped up to meet this goal and work harder than before. It is so fun to feel the energy and faith of all the other missionaries around you!! I think this week I have been learning so much about change and the way it is not only possible, but it can be instantaneous. The moment you decide you want to change, to be better in some way, to grow closer to the Lord, you instantly change! Every small act you do, different choice you make, and kind thought you have makes a small change in your life. Now, you may have to wait a little bit to be the person you want to be, but it d...

Hola de Carcarañá! Transfers happened and my favorite district I have ever been in came to an end, they are still in the zone though do no big deal. So Hermana Baldauf and I got moved out to Carcarañá. We are still companions and still have our assignment, but we are just whitewashing this area. Which is funny because I have whitewashed every area I have been in. I got the drill down by now. Carcarañá is super cute, super small, super tranquil. We were definitely moved here because of safety issues in our last area, but I'm not complaining. I love it here!! I have never felt more like I am SUPPOSED to be somewhere than I feel here. Our first night, we went to buy some food for dinner but when we got to the cash register, we realized we both managed to forget our money. So we absolutely sprinted to the pension in our dresses and pros shoes in the dark. But we also managed to get lost on the way back and it was a whole mess. The next day, the census was supposed to be happening in AL...

This week was rather calm compared to some weeks in the past. Our exciting news this week is that our friend Gisela committed to being baptized and chose her baptismal date yay!! Gisela is probably one of the most humble and kind people I have met on the mission.     We had a fun lesson with our friend Valeria too. She was taught 10 YEARS ago by some elders and remembers nearly everything. We were teaching her the plan of salvation, but she kind of taught us. Basically, she knew everything and told us the plan just made sense. Well.... yes it does.      We asked her how her reading of the Book of Mormon was going and she said that she loved how the Book of Mormon teaches all the same things as the Bible but in a simple, pure way. We said "Yeah!"     She said she liked to read the Book of Mormon with the Bible because she understands both of them better as she reads them together. We said "Yeah!"     We asked if she had prayed about the Book o...

46: Pablo And John 13:35

One day while doing studies, Hna Baldauf looks out the window and goes "There's a whole entire parrot on our balcony". Well it wasn't a parrot, but we went out to catch him and he was the sweetest thing. We named him Pablo. He just hopped on my shoulder, gave me lots of kisses, ate some bread, squawked a couple times, and flew away when we were trying to find his owner. Hope he's doing alright.     We had FIRE interviews with President and Hermana Tolman. I seriously love them. We got to talk about technology, the safety of our area, etc. Usually Pte gives me some kind of hint for my transfer news, but this time I got nothing. Tune in next week I guess!     We had a fun ward activity with the theme of Argentine Independence. There are actually like 4 holidays that celebrate independence, fun fact. Anyways, the ward gave us little aprons and neckties to wear and the elders went Gaucho mode haha.      This week was really good on the finding grind!! We f...

45: Happy Birthday To Me

This week was really satisfying, but in a really weird way. I'll give you a disclaimer, we did not have any numerical success whatsoever. But we did work really hard and gave it our all, so I'm still proud of the work we did do.     Knocking doors is harder in our new area because everybody is already super religious and tells us that everyone else that they can possibly think of would not want to hear a message about Jesus Christ. I'm very sad. I think everyone should hear a message about Jesus Christ.     That's alright though, we just gotta figure out what works here and what doesn't.     We had fun exchanges with Sister Vargas. I went out to Funes to spend the day with her. Funes is SUPER cute. We were supposed to go visit this guy named Axel, but we were only given his general area and the fact that he has a black gate.     Well we get to the general area and literally every single house has a big black gate. So we spent a long time trying to...
