40: Knock Knock...

What a wild ride you guys. This week was seriously a dream. Many, many miracles.      I'll start with my favorite news, Julian and Bruno put THEMSELVES on date to be baptized. In a lesson with their family, Julian asked if he could serve a mission so we told him of course but you have to be baptized first. So he just turned to his mom and started asking when he could get baptized. And he kept asking until they settled on a date of April 10th!! Then Bruno piped up and told us he wants to get baptized with his brother.      We had a really serious conversation with them about what baptism means and the importance of it. Julian and Bruno both shared sweet testimonies of how they feel at church and why they want to be baptized. And they are so ready!! They are such special kids.      And!!!!! Julian and Bruno's examples REALLY helped their parents feel the spirit and have a stronger desire to listen and truly understand what we are teaching. We h...

39: Halfway...

This week was un poco más tranquilaaaaa!!     On Tuesday, our air conditioner started smelling like smoke so we decided it was time to take a look at it. This thing is ancient, gross looking, and makes weird sounds. When we pulled out the filter, we found 3 inches of GUNK on it, so we decided to completely take it apart and deep clean it. Yall it was nasty. It had mold and spiderwebs and dust and everything an air conditioning unit should not have. I can't believe I've been breathing that air for 4 months.      And I hit 9 months! Say WHAT?? Halfway?? No way. Genuinely blows my mind that it has been that long. It feels like I was sitting in at-home MTC yesterday. To celebrate, my Uruguayan comp gave me a Reeses that one of her yankee comps gave her. I may have teared up a little eating it... I've missed them so much haha!!     Later in the week, we made the trek back up to Rosario (that's 3 weeks in a row now, in case anybody is counting). This time wa...

Another crazy week! We didn't get a new companion this time, but we had zone conferences and other fun activities. We started off with a zone pday last monday and spent time playing volleyball and eating hamburgers (US hamburgers are still superior). My zone is the absolute best, they only put dope missionaries out in the boonies.      Then we had zone conferences! Zone conferences are always super uplifting and I LOVE learning from my leaders and the Spirit. This was my first time giving a presentación in a conference and it was a little nerve wracking. It went well enough, I only forgot like 34 words in Spanish... but I blame that on exhaustion from the carbon monoxide alarm that went off at 3am. Plus it was really fun to make the trek up to Rosario and see all my missionary friends who got transferred there.      We visited our familia loca this week too because Julian turned 9!! So we brought a banana cake (really just Banana bread in a cake mold) and h...

37: Que En El Mundo

Just about every day this week had a "what in the world is happening" moment. But so it goes, right?     We started off this week with a lot of schedule flipping and changing and miscommunication about some meetings, but it's all good. We ended up going to Rosario on Wednesday night with the Murphy sisters in a very small taxi. The Ruta was terrifying as usual. It's a literal 2 lane road that doesn't have a speed limit and a ton of semi trucks. Basically, everybody is flying through the Argentina countryside and passing trucks and avoiding potholes and everything at like 75mph.      Our meetings went really well and we actually got to be part of a surprise pregnancy reveal!! One of the Tolmans's sons and his wife have been trying for a long time and are finally having a baby! So they had us help them surprise Pte & Hna Tolman with the news. It was a super cute moment and all the Hermanas in the room were crying haha.      More meetings happene...
