44: What A Week

Image
Lots to write and not a lot of time to write it so let's get started with the bullet points      -Had ZONE CONFERENCES!!! They were SO good. All of the talks and workshops flowed really well together and the Spirit was super strong during the whole thing. We learned a lot about baptism and how we can help our friends progress towards it #baptizenations     -Visited Teresa, our returning member. She is really amazing and has been taking HUGE steps towards being able to go to the temple and being active in the church again! She's honestly an inspiration to me. Plus she taught us how to make gnocchi with her, so she's basically my fav.     -Fell asleep to the sound of gunshots outside last night... My fav lullabye. Gotta love Rosario.     -Had one day where we had the BEST PLANNING SESSION in the world. We had plans, back up plans, and backup plans for our back up plans. It was beautiful. And then every single lesson fell through, every member c...

43: The Mission Is A Happy Place

This week was just soooooo good. Very happy week all around. We started off with an awesome mission leadership conference!! This conference was super special because Pte and Hna Tolman's daughters came into town and shared their testimonies with us during the conference and it really brought an amazing spirit. It definitely stoked my flame for this work and the work I can do to personally improve every day. I am getting used to city life: learning where not to go and when not to go there. I am getting to know the ward more and the people that the elders were teaching before and we have been starting to see some success. But there has been a pretty big hiccup in getting our Areabook up and running so basically we are going old school and paper reporting our days and planning in little notebooks to bring with us.  Even though there are some logistical headaches, we had some awesome lessons. One with Gisela, who is an absolute gem haha. She has been looking into the church for a long ...

42: The Big Rosary

Hola de Rosario!     Yeah, they sent me to the big city. I'm serving in the Belgrano ward here and we share the ward with some cool elders! We are still the Tech leaders for the mission so that's really fun too.     Rosario is different. A lot bigger and a lot more dangerous. If you know me, you know I'm more of a small town kind of person so I am a little out of my element here, but that's ok because I'm always down for an adventure.     This week started with a 4:30am bus ride into Rosario and meeting my new comp, Hna Baldauf (who happens to be my favorite person ever). Our pension hasn't had missionaries in it since the beginning of the pandemic, so it had NOTHING haha. We had to make a lot of trips to the store to stock up. But it's a super big pension with empanadas down the street, so I am not complaining.      Our very first day, the elders told us that they had set up a visit with a super inactive lady who wants to come to church agai...

41: Taste Buds

Okay here we go! A new week, new stories, new miracles, new lows, it's all part of the game.      This week started with a fun pday of hermanas in Rosario! We got to paint mate cups for each other, play some volleyball, have a picnic, and listen to our STLs empower us as sisters haha. All in all, 10/10 day.     Then we had exchanges! I stayed here and Hermana Martinez came to spend the day with me. We had a crazy day visiting the familia loca, having a powerful lesson with Norma, and knocking doors. At the end of the day, we were walking to find some ice cream and I saw a door that I just KNEW we had to knock. So we went and knocked. The guy who answered the door (Federico) was obviously not very happy to see us. He told us that every few months the same things happen: missionaries knock on his door and tell him they felt really strongly that they had to stop by and he sends them away. I said "I think that's a sign" and he said "No". I just looked at him and...
