16. A Busy One
Happy P-day, y'all!
- We made a goal with Kat to quit smoking by Thanksgiving because she really wants to be baptized by the new year!! Woohoo!
- Luis is gonna be baptized this Saturday! We had in-person church for the first time since being here, and Luis got to meet so many new friends in the ward. I think he is going to love his new church family.
- A super nice member of the church paid for In-n-Out for us and it was such a sweet gesture that brightened our day.
- Another member of the ward ding-dong ditched us and dropped off chili, cornbread, oil, and milk after hearing about my miracle from last week haha!
- The young women in our ward drew little chalk sayings and quotes from conference all over our driveway, which was super sweet.
- I got the news that I am going to Argentina on NOVEMBER 4TH!! I am so excited! Let's go Rosario!
- By some odd chance of luck I got to see the girls from my last area at Target and the reunion was super sweet (I may have cried).
- Luis made us a copy of his first ever book about wrestling and signed it!
- We made matching bracelets for our friend Nancy who is battling cancer. She decided to surprise us with a bright pink wig when we visited. It totally rocked our world.
- We played pear roulette at the pear farm. Basically you all stand in a circle and someone throws a rotten pear into the air, then you all lean down and watch a phone's camera to see who the pear is going to hit. It is nasty and sticky and scary, but it is really fun and you get some good pictures from it.
- I recently discovered Samoan music... my life has drastically improved since.
-I had to say goodbye to some really dope missionaries because it is their time to go home, which totally stinks but I really hope they do amazing in the next stages of their lives.
As I reflect on this week, I notice how important the small gestures from people and how they brighten up my whole week. Sometimes it is just some chalk drawings, or free in-n-out, maybe even a pink wig or dropped off groceries, but those acts of kindness mean so much to me. It definitely makes me realize that we have a huge impact on the people around us. I want to be better at being a light to others and looking for small ways to brighten someone's day. I also know that when we do those small things, it makes us happier too. It is definitely a win/win situation, sometimes it is just hard to actually do it haha!
Love all of y'all! Have a great week and pray my Spanish skills come back soon!
