20. Memory Loss

Every time I sit down to write a weekly email I forget everything I have ever done. So let's try to remember some highlights together.

Lessons this week were very interesting to say the least. One guy who has been baptized for a year asked us who God was... I think he may have been joking but I'm not sure. We visited an ANCIENT lady who had a full mustache. Very sweet lady, very thick mustache. In a different lesson, the 11 year old prayed and thanked God especially for my companion teaching the whole lesson when it was definitely me teaching (I'm not actually mad about that one, it was just hilarious). The members around here have started feeding us more, which is great for our budget, but I have eaten some very interesting things. Maybe that's just prep for Argentina.

In other news, we had a zone conference and it was so fun to see all my friends again! Our mission president taught us about what he considers to be the 4 cornerstones of faith: prayer, scripture study, worship, and service. It was really powerful and I loved setting goals to be better over the next 6 weeks.

My miracle this week was thanks to Jacob O. Layer DDS who fit me in to see him at 7 am on Thursday and then took care of all my dental needs for free. If yall are ever in Medford and need a dentist, he's your guy.

This week I have been super excited about my studies because I got a journal edition of the Book of Mormon so I can write notes in the margins easily. My favorite thing to do is read the scriptures and follow along with a study manual, which helps me gain so much more insight into the verses! This week I have been thinking so much about "murmuring". How often do I complain about a rule before begrudgingly following it? Hint: It's a lot. In my studies, I have learned so much about how we are blessed in HUGE ways when we follow God's commandments with a cheerful attitude. This week, I'm going to work on doing everything with a smile and being more positive instead of murmuring!

Thanks to everyone who gave us advice on how to help out the kids and Kat! Y'all are incredible. I hope y'all have a great week and let me know what I can do for you!!
