23: I Won't Crap Out
I have seen so many miracles in just a week. We are getting so many referrals for people to teach from Facebook, and they actually answer! We say hi to people in the street and they actually make eye contact!
My super big news is we found these 5 new people to teach, but then only one could make it to the next lesson. Luckily, she brought her 2 friends and we taught them too. So now we have 7 new people to teach!
We do lots of walking and since it's summer we are sweating all the time and being eaten by mosquitoes. Don't forget the shoe tan lines haha. I love walking at the end of the day and seeing everybody out with their families at the big plazas or getting ice cream. The weather cools down at about 8pm and everybody comes out to socialize.
Here is my spanish update: I know spanish, but not Argentinian. This is not spanish. With all the sh sounds and dropping random s's out of words and slang, the language is coming slowly. But it is coming!
Cucaracha update: so many cucarachas. They come from this tiny, dark coat closet and we kill so many there that my compa kicked them all into a circle and said "el consejo" which means "the council"
I had my first district council in spanish (when local missionaries get together to talk about missionary work). It wasn't that bad and there's a native speaker named Elder Alphowriset who is learning English, he is HILARIOUS.
We did the nastiest service for a really old lady named Marta who needed her house cleaned. While we were working she turned on the radio to an English station and the weirdest music started playing. My personal favorite was a song called "I won't crap out". Imagine cleaning the grossest house in 100⁰ weather and a random Argentine band is singing "I won't crap out" over and over again in the thickest accent you can imagine. It felt like a fever dream.
One thing I've been thinking a lot about this week is the importance of surrounding yourself with people who buoy you up! It's important to choose friends who support you and help you to achieve your goals because they can lift you when you start to hang low. I hope I'm that person for a lot of yall! Let me know how I can be there for each of you.

Pics this week include the beautiful countryside, the streets I walk, the super nice part of town in my area, some selfies with Hermana Martinez, a snail, the ultimate anti-robbery clear bag, and a picture plus caption from Elder Alphowriset who was doing his best in English.
