28: Año Nuevo
Hello my friends! How are yall!
This week flew by! It started off with a pretty good power outage that lasted for a pretty good amount of time. We got creative with the one flashlight we had, we did weekly planning in the dark, and it was HOT. But the worst part was the cockroaches. Usually I'm asleep when it's dark enough for them to come out, but I was definitely wide awake and saw more cucarachas than I hope to ever see again. It was nasty.
We had a busy week of lessons and finding and reconnecting with previously taught people. One of my favorite amigos, Juan Cruz, accepted the invitation to pray about a baptismal date! I'm so excited for him, he is one of the sweetest dudes alive. Our other friends are still dodging us and won't keep any of their commitments to read the Book of Mormon or attend church, so we are about to start a whole week of finding more people who hopefully have more interest.
We had our New Year's festivities and enjoyed lots of time with our zone! The Pergamino sisters came here this time, so they got to experience Venado Tuerto. On New Years Eve we may have been sexually harassed in the streets a few times, but later we had an asado and played Uno with our friends, so it was ok. Then on New Years we got to play sports, eat pizza, and watch G-rated Disney movies. Even though it randomly started to hail in the middle of our basketball game, it was still a 10/10 time.
Then I got sick... again! It was pretty frustrating to feel the fever coming on again but I took Sunday as my day to knock out and now I feel a lot better. I still have to take a covid test today, so I'll leave yall on a cliffhanger with those results until next week.
Well as 2021 came to a close and we opened 2022, I've been thinking a lot about... me! Who I was this time last year, who am I now, who I want to be this time next year. Although I've grown a lot over the last 12 months, I have pretty far to go to meet my goals for the next 12 months. I came up with my word of the year that explains how I'm gonna do it. Surrender. Okay it sounds silly but hear me out.
I want to be all in on the missionary work I'm doing here. You know, exactly obedient and completely diligent. Up until now it has been me trying to make my will fit into mission life. But I think it's high time I completely surrender my will to the Lord's and let Him take over 100%. It's gonna be the best way to become who He needs me to be and do the work He needs me to do!
Let me know what your word of the year is!! Love yall!!
