29: Cuarentena
Cliff hanger over, I got covid! It wasn't fuerte, just like a bad cold with some decente fatigue so not as bad as it could've been. However, getting sick included a 5 day quarantine for the both of us.
I may have gone a little stir crazy. I was used to walking for miles every day and not in circles around our apartment. I deep cleaned the place, organized shelves with things I didn't even know we had, and had at least 4 solo dance parties while Hna Martinez slept.
Because of that, I don't have many stories this week! Once we got out of quarantine, we got to go with Hermano Ermacora to give our friend Marta a blessing and it was an amazing experience! Marta has been searching for peace in her life for a very long time. And oh boy did we have good news for her! It's called the Gospel of Jesus Christ!! (Lmk if you want to learn more ;))
My last piece of news comes from transfers. Hermana Martinez said chau and headed into the big city of Rosario, and I got Hermana Easton! My travel buddy is all the way from the OEM! And on top of that, we have been assigned to be the technology leaders for the whole mission... you guys. It's CRAZY what I can do now. I won't say much, but I will tell yall I have more access than the APs (assistants to the president).
Wish me luck with this new change! It's going to take a LOT of hard work since we still have to go out and find and teach and baptize. Our branch needs a lot of love, we had 7 people come to church yesterday. No, not 7 of our friends coming to church, 7 people total... all members. Honestly, I'm excited to dig in and work harder than ever before.
Don't think I won't leave you with a spiritual thought though. The good thing about quarantine was allllll the extra study time! I was constantly listening to a podcast or a devotional or a talk or a hymn or reading a book or the scriptures or a manual of some kind. If you can't tell, studying is one of my favorite parts of mission life.
Something I learned about was the importance of the sacrament (the bread and water we take during our church services). Until now in my life, it was just a routine thing that I did every week. But as I studied this week, I learned that as we make taking the sacrament a priority and use it as a way to really be made clean through the Atonement of Jesus Christ, it can be a powerful experience each week! I'm going to work on doing it more deliberately so I can fully appreciate those blessings.
I love yall so much! Until next week!
