32: Hermana Trasher Strikes Again
Happy Lunes :)
This week was a beat down! I got sick AGAIN. 3rd time in 2 months, but who's counting. At least I knew it wasn't Covid this time haha. I probably should've given myself more time to rest but we had to prepare for lots of conferences and meetings because a member of the 70 came to the mission!! Elder Costa came and we got another good roasting over technology.... oops.
Then we drove to Rosario and attended their conference, drove back, and went to the conference here in Venado Tuerto. We also had a few leadership meetings in the mix plus our normal missionary duties, so it was kind of a hectic few days. But I learned a LOT! And Elder Costa relit a fire out here in the mission, so that was really awesome.
We had an... interesting.... lesson with our friend Marta. We were trying to teach her about the Restoration of Christ's church and she was quite distracted. She told us about how her neighbor told her she can't have visitors anymore (not sure why). Later, we were teaching about Joseph Smith when she asked Hna Easton to cut her fingernails... with rusty and broken scissors... and Hna Easton did it haha. But she tapped out when Marta asked her to cut her toenails.
Another fun story includes pizza ordering with the elders. We had a meeting where the elders ordered some pizza for lunch, but when Elder Glick opened the box he immediately shut it and told us we will not be eating it. We all looked inside to find a BIG. NASTY. COCKROACH. ON THE PIZZA. Ew. Of course, the elders just picked it off and ate every slice except the one it was on. Ew. Later, we found out that the place they ordered from puts cockroaches on every single pizza that gets ordered to the church building. Apparently it's a problem that's been going on for quite a while. Sad but what are ya gonna do.
Here's your fun Argentine fact of the week:
When you go to the cheap gas stations the attendants ask you to get out of the car when they pump the gas. Turns out that there is a slight chance that the car may explode while being filled because the gas is such low quality? I don't honestly know, but I'm too scared to question it.
To conclude my email this week I want to talk about purpose. Between all the meetings, training, calls, taxi rides, planning sessions, and such I got so wrapped up in being stressed out that I forgot my purpose. I'm on a mission to help people come unto Christ through the Restored gospel! I'm here because I love my Savior! The visit from Elder Costa reminded me to refocus on my core purpose and let the frustrating stresses go. So how can refocusing on your purpose help you this week?
Con mucho amor,
Hna Thrasher
PICS!!
1. Just your weekly reminder that our pension has too many of these big guys. It's just especially unnerving when they're crawling on your kitchen counters instead of the floor.
2. I GOT ALL MY CHRISTMAS MAIL! Thanks to everyone who sent me something, yall made me feel so loved :)
3. I'm back to being Hermana Trasher. I see it every single day in some form or another. Sometimes my very white comp accidentally says it now because we're so used to it.
4 & 5. Conferences yay!! Rosario definitely has a ton more sisters, but if you ask me... the boonies are the place to be.
