55: Agustina Y Viviana
Wow this week FLEW! We had MLC, Zone council, exchanges, a trip to Casilda, and more. We took advantage of every minute we had in our area to be with the people. Either talking to everyone we saw in the streets, teaching lessons, or visiting members.
AGOSTINA!!
She's awesome. We met her 2 weeks ago. We passed by her house and saw her and her son in their window, but kept walking. We only made it a few steps when we felt like we should go back and talk to her. So we shared the Plan of Salvation and she has been coming to church! This week we taught her about the Restoration of Christ's Church and she told us an incredible story.
She said a year ago she was deathly sick, pregnant, and alone in a hospital. She said that she prayed to God and told Him that if everything turned out alright she would seek Him. She was crying and told us that it was no coincidence that we passed by her house and talked to her. Wow. I am so lucky to be part of her story and see how God is working in her life.
Yesterday we went back to teach a little more about the Gospel of Jesus Christ and when we invited her to be baptized, she said yes!!! The 30th of July could not come any sooner.
VIVIANA!!!
We went on a day trip to Casilda again to visit more members and get to know the city. In one of the visits, we met Viviana. Wow the amount of love I have for Viviana is insane and I've only met her once.
She's in her late 40s and had lost her eyesight about 6 years ago. She's almost completely blind now, which makes her feel very lonely especially since all her kids are grown up. As we talked to her about God's love, the Spirit filled the room and I got to see a small glimpse of Viviana the way God sees her. Words can't describe the love God has for His children
Eventually we had to go and I left her with the biggest hug I could muster. As we left, I couldn't believe how lucky I am to be a missionary and meet people like Viviana who will change my life forever.
WALTER!!
Well, this story will be shorter but it's still a miracle. Walter was a reference from Facebook who lives in Casilda. We never met him in person, but on Saturday we invited him to church and put him in contact with a member who could bring him to the chapel. And he came!!!!! Which is insane!!! He's not afraid to act on his faith.
After church, we sat in a classroom and taught him the Restoration. I think it was the best Restoration lesson I have ever been in. The Spirit was absolutely undeniable as we told him the First Vision of Joseph Smith. Walter was touched and just smiled through the whole thing. We even had a member and a recent convert there to tell their stories of how they learned these things are true, and that was powerful.
I just gotta say. I love my mission. I love wearing my tag with Christ's name on it. I love talking to random people in the streets, hearing their stories, and helping them see how Christ's gospel can help them no matter what they're going through.
Life is full, God is good, and I am one lucky Hermana.
