61: Paparazzi

This week we had a photographer at church.

Like dslr-camera-with-a-huge-flash-thing-on-top kind of paparazzi man. Really, he was just there to take photos of the various government officials who came to visit our sacrament meeting on Sunday. I guess the visitors were a really big deal because the members were lining up to greet them after the meeting, but I really have no idea who they were. But we got to give every single one a Libro de Mormon with a Christus statue, and that was cool.

Other than that we had a lot of meetings. MLC, zone council, a leadership training, and a mini MTC for the youth in the stake made this week short on time. I LOVED the mini MTC. We basically got to teach a workshop on how to teach the first lesson, which is the Restoration of the Gospel of Jesus Christ through the Prophet Joseph Smith. Wow. We got to talk with about 60 youth about their testimonies and their desires to serve. The youth are really powerful.

I ate a lot of ice cream this week.

I bought a new mate

We had this one day where almost everybody we talked to was interested in learning more about our message, and that was a really big miracle for us.

I found a lil robot guy on the street that I really connected with.

We met a man in the street named David who was actually here visiting from the US looking for  a house so he can move here. He asked if we spoke English and we said yes, so he talked to us in English for about 20 minutes about his story and how he met Jesus when he was little. Now he makes christian worship music. So if you are interested in looking him up, his name is David Lugo on youtube and spotify. He is probably the nicest person I have met in Argentina haha.

Something he told us really stuck with me, "I can tell you really believe in this, I can see it in your eyes". I have been thinking about that phrase and what it means to have a relationship with Christ that is deeper than surface level. My testimony that I know that my Redeemer lives needs to sink deeper than just knowledge. It needs to direct my goals, my plans, my decisions in every moment!

And something really wonderful is that as you learn to "serve with all your heart, might, mind and strength," you begin to change! Christ has the power to change the very desire of our hearts, but a lot of the time it takes a little bit of faking it until you make it. So act, and then watch the miracles unfold themselves.

Sorry if this email was long and rather boring. Cosas que pasan. Still love y'all though.
