66. Streeeeeeeetch
I say it once every few months, but this time I really mean it. It was the longest, shortest week of my life. We had transfers and I am still in Funes, but I am with my BEST FRIEND Hermana Judd as a companion! It is so much fun. I have been so blessed with the best companions in the whole world. This transfer comes with a ton of excitement, new ideas, hard work, and a new assignment.
The new responsibilities started right off the bat and we got to go pick up the new missionaries at the airport who had just arrived from the Missionary Training Centers in Mexico and Brazil and Peru and all over the place. It was so fun to talk to them in their super basic spanish and hype them up about the mission! We also got to train their trainers and introduce them to their new companions, train some of the new Sister Training Leaders on their responsibilities, and then also set tons of goals and plans for our zone that we cover as well. It is a lot of work, but it is such joyful work, I love it!
This week we saw so many miracles. We got to put Mariano on date to be baptized on October 22nd, we met some of the most GOLDEN people I have ever talked to, and made so many plans for our area. It is so fun to sit and brainstorm with Hermana Judd and then go out and work SUPER hard to achieve all our goals. For example, we set a date for baptism in the ward for October 29th, so us and the elders we share the ward with are going to put people to be baptized on that date. It will be really fun to have a ton of baptisms all together.
FUNNIEST STORY! Okay, they split our area into 2 so there are Elders in Roldan now, even though they are still in the Funes ward. One of the elders is FRESH from the plane, it is his first week in Argentina. He does not speak Spanish and I think he is dazed and confused. Well, we show up to the church for an activity we had and his companion starts yelling about how his companion is dying and when we asked Elder Miller what happened, he told us he threw up on the bus 7 times on his way to the church. It was SOOOO funny. But sad for him. But so funny. He was super pale and not doing well just laying on the grass, but was still cracking jokes. He ended up throwing up a lot more and going to the hospital... and getting a shot in his butt (he gave us the full rundown the next day haha). But the line of the night from him was "I graduated high school 3 months ago and now here I am throwing up on a bus in Argentina ''. What a champ.
Something I have really thought about this week are high goals and high faith. Something I love that it says in Preach my Gospel is that goals are a reflection of the vision we have for ourselves and our lives. So when we have a high vision of what we can achieve, we will set high goals for the week, the month, and the year. I love setting goals that make me stretch and make me do something that I have never done before because they help me become someone I have never been before! And I do love myself, but I also know my potential is infinite and there is always room for improvement haha. This transfer will be all about stretching myself to be the best and do the best I possibly can.
I just love my mission and being a missionary. It is the bestest.
Love y'all (listen to tyler childers new song and album when it comes out)
