72: I'm A Mom
First of all, I hope y'all know that vitamin d fixes all your problems. Fun fact about me, I have been given prescription strength vitamin d supplements by my doctor 3 different times. I guess I'm just clinically deficient or something. Well, I didn't take any with me on the mission and when I told my mission president wife about that, she scolded me with love and sent me home with a bottle of vitamin d and one more of vitamin b for good measure. And ya know what? It works. I feel 10x better.
With Hna Judd leaving and transfers and waiting for Hna Neuffer (my trainee) to come, I have had a total of 4 different companions and 3 different areas in this week. It was really fun and kind of hectic but everything has settled out now.
I got to spend a night in CarcaraƱa, my favorite town in the whole wide world. And I got to see all my favorite people at a ward activity. I got to get an Agustina hug, hear Hno Girello exclaim "espectacular!!!", and have the ultimate ping pong showdown with Juanchi. I won the showdown.
But on Wednesday all the new missionaries came and we got to go to the airport to greet them all with President and a BIG sign. It was so cute, they were all wide eyed and terrified. It was like seeing a lost herd of sheep. So we reviewed them, loaded their suitcases into some cars and got them onto a bus headed to the mission home.
Guys my trainee is so cute. She speaks veryy little Spanish haha. I forgot how hard it is to slow down and train, especially in a different language. I'm used to having companions that have the same amount of time in the mission as me, so it has been interesting to recognize which things are new to her that are as normal as breathing to me. But I'm learning, she's learning, and we are getting it done down here in Funes :)))
To wrap up this week's email, here's an insight to an experience we had yesterday. We were in a lesson with our friend Patricia, who has been praying to know if the Book of Mormon is true. Her not-so-nice, 90 yr old mother interrupted us and started yelling at us for "spreading the devil's lies" and said some truly awful things. Hurt my heart. And I got emotional while bearing my testimony after, but as we walked away I thought about Matthew 5. I got to bear testimony that Joseph Smith was a prophet, and that this gospel brings JOY!! So maybe every once in a while, an old, angry argentine lady insults you, your family, and your cow... but that's okay! I get to be a representative of Jesus Christ and bear testimony of His restored gospel, so nothing else really matters.
Love y'all!!
