74: Hot
I said it was hot last week. I was kidding. THIS week was hot. We had a couple 98 degree days. Throw in about 5 million mosquitos, 80% humidity, and then go walking for 5 hours. But actually, it's not awful, The watch tan line makes it all worth it.
I MET MY MTC COMP! Hna Stokes had to come into the Rosario mission from the Santa Fe mission to do visa paperwork in the government office here and I happened to be in the church building 5 blocks away from the bus terminal, so we got to meet in person for the first time. It was so weird. She's real haha!
We also had a zone conference, exchanges with the hermanas from Echesortu, and met a lot of new friends. We had a video call lesson with our torta frita man from last week... We were a little apprehensive when he answered the call without a shirt on, but felt a little better when he stood up to put on some sweatpants. Franco is pretty interesting to say the least.
At the zone conference, I had the opportunity to bear my "last testimony" and it was pretty sad. I stood up and said "I have no idea what to say right now". And I wasn't lying. How do you sum up 1.5 years of serving the Lord? So much learning, personal change, stretching, and seeing miracles happen. People love to ask me what I have learned most on my mission and I feel so unable to put it in words. It's so hard to describe. I feel like everything about me is different.
Yesterday was the primary program. The kids were COMPLETELY tone deaf, and it didn't help that they were going a capella. When the songs started, it took a few lines of off tune warbling before one of the kids caught the right notes and the rest followed suit. But they were really cute and the Spirit was still strong. That morning, I had read 3 Nefi 17, when Christ blessed each of the children when He came to the Americas.
I just love my Savior so much. I love how much He loves us, His brothers and sisters. I love that He is humble and always serves the people around Him. I love that He knows us individually and completely and still loves us, even when we find it hard to love ourselves. I love that He loves the little children and values them as equals. I love reading His words and being His representative.
And I love you guys too.
